QC Instructions with Storage and shelf life Instructions for pH Paper

Micro Essential Laboratory does a QC check before all product ships and recommends a QC check only if you keep open product longer than 6 months. If your Nitrazine paper is used before the 6 month mark, no QC check is required.

If you choose to do periodic QC testing we recommend every 30 days

Quality Control Procedure

Tear off a strip of pH paper from the roll
Dispense a drop of the pH 5.0 buffer solution onto the strips of paper
Immediately match the color of the pH paper with the closest color on the color chart supplied with the pH paper dispenser
Repeat steps 1-3 with the 7.0 buffer solution, or with the buffer required by your testing protocol.

pH paper should be stored at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. Unopened
pH test kits should remain in the foil wrap and be used by the printed expiration date.
Once opened the shelf life is approximately 6 months.
Protect against exposure to acid or alkaline fumes.

Color comparison recommended under a combination of fluorescent light and daylight.
